Funny enough, my birthday is just a few days before New Year’s Eve (hint, it’s today). So for me, the Year-End reflection many of us do is also a solar return / becoming one year older reflection. What happened in this past year? Did I meet my goals? What am I grateful for, and what are the lessons?

A very encouraging story. :) I needed to read that. Everyday I have scary thoughts and feeling that my writing is probably worthiness because there are so many other good writers and more senior engineers or leaders that are writing similar content.
Perhaps I am not going to have the boom in followers you had but at least it's encouraging to know that fear is normal in this case.
I would be interested in reading your advice on how to write good content and grow on Substack.
